Old Blog: Frisk vs Ness by G1! & Progress Update

 Hello everyone! It's been a while! I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone and give a quick update about upcoming blogs, as well as advertise a blog I worked on. If you just want to read Frisk vs Ness, the G1 blog which I contributed to, scroll to the very end of this post to see it.

My next major personal blog will be releasing anywhere from May 20th-23rd, as it'll be coinciding with a commissioned track by Therewolf Media, similarly to what I did with Marisa vs Yuffie, so definitely keep an eye out for that one!

I might as well give a layout for my current blog plans. After the current unnamed blog releasing from the 20th-23rd, my next blog after that will be Mario vs Sonic, a classic and eternal matchup I want to finally give my full overview of using all major, notable recent content for both characters. I've noticed that there hasn't really been a full overview of this matchup since Death Battle's remake back in 2018, and even that episode didn't really delve into the higher cosmic ends for both characters, so I want to try and give the best, biggest, most full overview of both characters currently available. There's no current release date set for the blog, but if all goes well, I'd love to get it out at some point in June! Don't be surprised if it ends up pushed back though, as this is a monumentally large matchup to cover, research, and index, even with my massive well of knowledge on both franchises lol.

After that, I plan to bust out several different Touhou blogs (yet again). I plan to make multiple smaller blogs covering:

-The Cosmology of Touhou

-A blog covering all the various notable feats from the series, ranging from low tier to cosmic

-Potentially a blog for scaling characters, though this one is uncertain.

After completing those blogs, I plan to make a Solo Analysis on Marisa Kirisame! Why Marisa, after she was pretty extensively covered in Marisa vs Yuffie? Well, for three reasons:

1. I didn't cover anywhere NEAR everything in that blog, as I was on a somewhat tight time-limit and naturally had to leave out a lot of irrelevant information to the MU.

2. Marisa is my babygirl and one of my favorite fictional characters ever, I want to publish a full, and complete analysis of every facet of her from a Versus lense that covers literally everything, that a matchup blog simply wouldn't be able to cover on its own.

And the third reason is... well... I'm going to be revamping Marisa vs Yuffie! I've been meaning to do this for a while now, as I have a wealth of problems with the blog in its current state. Touhou's cosmology is very poorly handled, as in the year since I wrote that blog, an insane amount of information regarding Touhou's cosmology has been found, rendering my initial explanation flat out incorrect. Even if the end product for my dimensional tiering is LIKELY correct, the math to get to that point was completely wrong. I also flat out did a dogshit job sourcing, I think I did a significantly better job on Kasen vs Fleetway Sonic, and plan to do a sourcing job similar to that when revamping the blog. I'm also going to be significantly improving my research performed on FF7, and doing a more elaborate deep dive on the games as much as I can.

Marisa vs Yuffie is a very important matchup to me, and while I am somewhat happy with the blog I delivered back in September, there's a multitude of problems that have to be addressed before I can consider myself TRULY proud of it. I can't guarantee when this revamp will be completed, as it's going to require me to complete several other blogs, as well as finish a few lengthy RPGs to be able to fully complete, but I absolutely intend to try to get it out either by the end of this year, or very early on next year.

Kirby vs Yuuma, Archie Tails vs Ran Yakumo, and Cirno vs Jack Frost are still slated to happen in the future, but I have absolutely no guarantees of when they could occur, I wouldn't expect any of them until next year unless unexpected circumstances occur.

Now that I've detailed my current plans for personal blogs, its time to detail something extra special. As you can tell from this update post, I joined in on G1, the popular Death Battle fan blog which makes massive, lengthy predictions for upcoming Death Battle episodes with a large group of users researching a matchup together, and eventually coming to a conclusion after much research and debate.

While Frisk vs Ness is NOT an upcoming episode, when Death Battle is off-season, G1 takes to exploring a handful of matchups that are very popular in the Versus community to try and come to some sort of verdict on them, with Frisk vs Ness being one of them. I participated in Frisk vs Ness and I can say safely that the debate and what we turned up for both franchises was absolutely batshit insane. I will likely be joining G1 on future Death Battle Predictions, as well as any Bonus Blogs that may interest me.

I can also say that I'm working on another group blog project, that being... G∞.... Yes, G Infinity. It's another group blog, with it essentially being a group blog of users that frequently contribute to G1, exploring other matchups that might not get the more popular attention that G1 matchups tend to. I can say that I'm working on at least two G∞ blogs right now, one of which is likely releasing in the coming weeks, and another... has no set release date, maybe in the coming months. You'll know what the matchup is once you see the "next up" at the end of G∞'s first blog, Sans vs The Judge (Undertale vs OFF).

So expect a variety of upcoming Versus Blogs from me in the future, ranging from personal blogs which are almost completely solo efforts, as well as G1 or G∞ blogs which I participate in. I'll be sure to make a major announcement post on my Blogger, as well as my Twitter (@KirbonicPikmin) whenever one of these blogs are released.
